IEEE WCNC 2012 Student Travel Grants

Call for Applications

IEEE Communications Society will be awarding a limited number of travel grants to IEEE Communications Society Student members who are authors of papers accepted in the technical program. Each student travel grant (STG) has an amount of $750, which will be received after the conference as reimbursement for legitimate conference expenses.

Eligible students MUST meet the following criteria:

1. Is an author of an accepted conference paper and presents the paper at the conference;
2. Is a Student Member of the IEEE Communications Society when submitting the application;
3. Is a full-time student registered toward a Bachelors, Masters, or Ph.D. degree in engineering or related field in a college or university when submitting the application;
4. Applicant may not receive more than one STG in any 12-month period.
During the expense reimbursement stage, the student must show the proof of having registered to attend the IEEE WCNC 2012 conference.

A student who is awarded a student travel grant must attend the conference in person and present his/her paper. . The student must register for the conference with payment. Grants will only be paid out upon the receipt of an expense report (with receipts) within 45 days after the conference. More details will be provided to the students who are selected to receive the STG award.

How to apply:

1. The application should be submitted electronically via EDAS. After logging into EDAS, click the Travel Grant tab at your EDAS home page, and then select Student Travel Grant for WCNC 2012. The application must include the following materials:
2. A reference letter from your advisor (your advisor can directly submit the reference letter on EDAS).
3. Your up-to-date resume including your citizenship (required), and ethnicity and gender (optional, used to broaden the participation of under-represented students).
4. A half-to-one page letter to state the purpose of attending the conference.
